HOW WE’VE DELIVERED SOLUTIONS TOGETHER WITH OUR CLIENTS
S/4HANA Utilities transformation for a metering point operator
As solution architects, we led the complete transformation from SAP ECC to S/4HANA Utilities for a metering point operator.
We introduced the new SAP reference data model, implemented modern interface technologies, and successfully migrated the existing process logic to the General Process Engine (APE).
Another key project success was rolling out SAP Market Communication for Utilities (MaCo Cloud), including the AS4 protocol for the electricity segment, as well as integrating SAP metering concept management for legally compliant metering operations.
To extend and integrate the system landscape, we specifically relied on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and built side-by-side extensions to handle message exchange between market partners efficiently and securely.
We also provided comprehensive support to the project team on switching processes in metering, billing, contract current accounts, and the implementation of new cloud solutions and interfaces.
Together, this allowed us to build a future-proof, scalable IT architecture.
New implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud for a charging station operator
For a leading e-mobility provider in Munich, we supported the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Essentials, taking the lead in particular on migrating the entire accounting function and integrating invoicing processes into the new cloud landscape.
One focus was on developing and implementing interfaces in the business partner and finance areas, in particular to connect external systems via SAP Cloud Integration.
We also built a custom solution for automated invoice capture and posting, based on Kotlin and AWS, to efficiently process high invoice volumes in S/4HANA Cloud.
In finance, we handled specific FI customizing, particularly around document types and tax codes, and carried out the complete migration of all general ledger documents, balances, and open items.
On the technology side, we used the SAP Business Technology Platform, S/4HANA Cloud Essentials, SAP Cloud Integration, and modern interface technologies such as REST and OData APIs.
Thanks to the close interplay of architecture, interface development, and process integration, we were able to ensure an efficient, future-ready handling of invoicing and finance processes.
Preparing an S/4HANA Utilities transformation for a grid operator
As part of the planned SAP S/4HANA Utilities transformation at Stadtwerke München, Kangoolutions supported the SAP Activate Prepare and Explore phases as solution architect.
Our focus was on the systematic analysis of the customer’s custom ABAP code.
The goal was to realistically assess the complexity of the transformation, identify optimization potential early on, and flag objects in the system that were no longer needed.
To do this, we used the SAP BTP ABAP Environment along with the Custom Code Migration app to specifically analyze the custom developments relevant to the utility business.
Based on the analysis, we derived concrete recommendations for the later implementation and identified redundant objects for targeted decommissioning.
All relevant findings from the code analysis were shared transparently with the development teams, so that risks could be addressed early and the transformation could be optimally prepared.
Architecture consulting to assess action items for an MC4U (SAP Marketing Communication for Utilities) rollout at an energy supplier
As part of an SAP MC4U rollout, Kangoolutions provided architecture consulting for an energy supplier.
The focus was on analyzing what action was needed and transparently laying out all relevant changes, in particular the interplay with MaCo Cloud and its impact on SAP dispute case management (Klärfallmanagement).
This consulting enabled structured planning and early identification of all necessary adjustments, ensuring smooth integration and process reliability.
