🗂️ Examples from current projects

S/4HANA Utilities Transformation for a Metering Point Operator

As part of a project for a metering point operator, we acted as solution architects, responsible for the complete transformation from SAP ECC to S/4HANA Utilities.

We introduced the new SAP reference data model, implemented modern interface technologies, and successfully migrated the existing process logic to the General Process Engine (APE).

Another key project success was the introduction of SAP Market Communication for Utilities (MaCo Cloud), including the AS4 protocol for the electricity sector, and the integration of SAP Metering Concept Management for legally compliant metering.

To expand and integrate the system landscape, we specifically leveraged the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and developed side-by-side extensions to efficiently and securely handle the exchange of messages between market partners.

We also provided comprehensive support to the project team in the areas of metering switch processes, billing, contract accounts payable, and the implementation of new cloud solutions and interfaces.

Together we were able to create a future-proof and scalable IT architecture.

Preparation of S/4HANA Utilities Transformation for a network operator

As part of the planned SAP S/4HANA Utilities transformation at Munich Municipal Utilities, Kangoolutions supported the SAP Activate phases Prepare and Explore as a solution architect.

Our focus was on the systematic analysis of the customer-specific ABAP code.

The goal was to realistically assess the complexity of the transformation, identify optimization potential early on, and identify objects in the system that were no longer needed.

For this purpose, we used the SAP BTP ABAP Environment and the Custom Code Migration App to specifically analyze the in-house developments relevant to the energy industry.

Based on the evaluations, we derived concrete recommendations for subsequent implementation and identified superfluous objects for targeted management.

All relevant findings from the code analysis were transparently communicated to the development teams so that risks could be addressed early and the transformation could be optimally prepared.

Implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud for a charging station operator

For a leading e-mobility provider in Munich, we supported the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Essentials, primarily responsible for the migration of the entire accounting system and the integration of invoicing processes into the new cloud landscape.

One focus was on the development and implementation of interfaces in the business partner and finance areas, particularly for connecting external systems via SAP Cloud Integration.

We also implemented our own solution for automated invoice capture and posting based on Kotlin and AWS to efficiently process high invoice volumes in S/4HANA Cloud.

In finance, we implemented specific FI customization, particularly with regard to document types and tax codes, and implemented the complete migration of all general ledger documents, balances, and open items.

The technology used included SAP Business Technology Platform, S/4HANA Cloud Essentials, SAP Cloud Integration, and modern interface technologies such as REST and ODATA APIs.

Through the close integration of architecture, interface development, and process integration, we were able to ensure efficient and future-proof handling of billing and financial processes.

Architectural consulting to determine the need for action when introducing MC4U (SAP Market Communication for Utilities) for an energy supplier

Kangoolutions provided architectural consulting for an energy supplier during the implementation of SAP MC4U.

The focus was on analyzing the required action and transparently presenting all relevant changes, particularly in their interaction with the MaCo Cloud and their impact on SAP Dispute Management.

The consulting enabled structured planning and early identification of all adjustments to ensure smooth integration and process reliability.
